We all know that the Left and the media (who, though they often do things together, ARE two separate groups with two separate agendas) are not great at giving us all the facts. They post up stories like how ICE arrested a five year old child (not true; they detained the five year old because the parent was being incarcerated and they couldn’t exactly let a five year old go wandering around alone, which is the same thing DCF does when they have a parent arrested… but I digress). A few days ago, I saw a news report about an “elderly gentleman” (their words, which I find extremely offensive considering I’m 55 in 3 days and I’m not f’ing elderly, thankewvrymuch) being “dragged” out of his home in nothing but crocks, his underwear, and his 8 year old grandson’s blanket. I knew there had to be more to the story (and I was correct), but I couldn’t find anything.

Now, I am a proponent of keeping government small. (No, smaller than that. That’s still too much government. Put more back. More.) I believe the government has reverse Midas touch: everything it touches turns to shit. Therefore, unless it’s really necessary, the government should just back off. ICE is a government agency, and they are a strong-arm group. For what they’re doing, that’s an important skill, and I’m thankful they are doing as good a job as they appear to be. I mean, for all the Left is freaking out over the “deadliest year for ICE in decades” (NPR), that number of people who died over the entire year is 32. Jails lose more people in a year, by far. That number, 32, is for all of ICE detention centers… LA alone lost 22 inmates to death in 2025. You can shout about their numbers, but ICE seems to be doing a pretty good job.

That said, it’s important to watch all people in positions of power. ICE is a powerful place to be. I firmly believe that the vast majority of people working for ICE are morally upright, good people just trying to do a very difficult job, made worse by idiotic protesters and rioters. But there is always the possibility of there being a bad guy in their midst. Just as there are bad cops, there are probably bad ICE agents. It behooves us, especially those of us supporting ICE, to keep an eye on them. I don’t mean in the “citizen monitoring” way, but more in the same way we keep an eye on our politicians.

So when I heard about this elderly gentleman being dragged out of his home after they smashed his door in (in 7*F weather, I might add), I wanted to know more. That sounds bad, and I was worried we’d finally found the one bad apple in the barrel. I did what I usually do: I went looking for actual information, factual stuff.

I didn’t find it.

The only thing I could find on the topic until very late last night was what the Left was saying. Basically, they maintain that ICE showed up at the guy’s door, did a dynamic entry with no warning and no warrant, and proceeded to yank the guy out wearing only his boxers, some crocs, and a blanket. (PBS)

Last night, a variety of TikTok and YouTube people began giving more information. Unfortunately, they aren’t giving sources, and that makes them suspect. PBS and NPR are giving their source without hesitation: the very clear video of the end (not the early or later parts) of the guy’s removal from his property.

What Right social media is saying is that ICE showed up with papers to find two child molesters. They knocked, asked to speak to someone, and received no answer. They could see people in the house. The guy has already admitted freely that he didn’t open the door and told his daughter to not open it. After a few minutes of trying things the polite way, ICE then forced their way in. The guy said he was a US citizen, and that he wasn’t who they were looking for. They said okay, let’s use the portable fingerprint machine and check your identity. We can do that, verify you’re a citizen, and then we’ll leave. The guy refused. They argued, and the guy got belligerent (verbally), so ICE just said screw it and cuffed him and dragged him out of the house. He was detained until they had a chance to verify he was a citizen and NOT the two guys they were looking for, and then released.

The news reports that one of the guys they were looking for was already in jail. Regardless, the dude who’s home they went into was rude, nasty, and refused to cooperate. Whether they used excessive force in battering his door down is questionable. They admit they knew there was at least one kid in the home, and taking the door off the hinges seems excessive… but only in hindsight. They also “knew” there was a kid in there with possibly 2 pedos. I’d have been “dynamic” in my entry, too.

Regardless, I’d like to know the full story. None of my Right pundits have been able to give any sources for their claims, and the video is pretty clear about what happened from the door of the house to the ICE vehicle. It seems to me that if ICE went to the wrong house (this appears to be the case), they owe the family an apology and a door. On the other hand, when ICE knocks at the door and asks politely to talk to people, you talk. I might have put on clothes and gone outside (because I don’t like cops in my house), but I’d still have talked to them. And if I have to prove I’m who I say I am, then I will.

The Left would like to paint this as “comply with your oppressors.” It’s not, though. They’re LEOs and generally speaking, they aren’t doing anything wrong. They’re going after people with bench warrants, judicial warrants, removal orders, and the like. They’re doing the job we asked them to. They’re not going rampaging through cities, “deporting US citizens” (I can’t believe how asinine that sounds). They’re rounding up criminals, mostly violent but sometimes there are collateral with others. That means we’re going to have to show papers sometimes, and while that sucks, I can live with it for a bit longer until we clean up the streets.

Do you have any other information on this particular incident? I’m looking for verifying info for the Right version of the story.
