That brought memories to yours truly. Non-Government checkpoints are very common in the Third World and used for many different purposes. In Venezuela they are called “alcabalas” and were most commonly by the criminal element collecting a small fee for their coffers and immediate purchase of drugs and alcohol. I used to carry a couple of bottles of cheap rum in my car to use as payment and did so with a smile on my face. Why? Because I did not want to get beat up or shot and my car stolen or set on fire with me inside. Yes, it did happen. I am not surprised that the Diversity Crowd picked up the worst cultural elements of their “protected” and are using them to exercise political pressure. I would exercise care in approaching these checkpoints. In the Third World there would be an obvious display of force to add in the compliance of the stop, but even though they may not visible, I would put past them to have a couple of armed enforcers with concealed weapons ready to act and then claim you just ran over them and they were trying to defend themselves. So they have mayor fraud and political checkpoints down, I wonder what else they already learned. Maybe necklacing is next?

If that is true, then why is “polling places” even on their list of protected zones for immigration violators?
