There are currently riots happening in Los Angeles and other California towns. I’ve so far watched a reporter FAFO and get shot in the leg with a rubber bullet, seen rioters dump rocks off an overpass onto cars below (police and non-police vehicles), witnessed “peaceful” folk set fire to cars, and heard about those self same “peaceful” folk ordering up driverless cars just so they could torch them.

Someone on Facebook posted this, and I decided to go and find out if it was true. At this point, if “someone posts something” (be it person, so-called legacy media, or new media) I simply don’t trust it and I research and verify. It took me a while. I had to go through an article by the Times of India, and a handful of other places before I finally found the article at the Blaze (which I recommend reading and watching). They posted the actual video in their article, so I can now verify that yes, ABC did actually say this on actual television/video. I am at a complete loss.

On Facebook, I carefully laid it out. If you said January 6th was a riot, and applauded the people being arrested, held without bail for unreasonable time, and given outrageously egregious sentences… but you say throwing rocks on moving vehicles is “peaceful protest,” just leave. I literally said, don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out. M’kay, byeeeeee.

I assumed most people would just delete me, if there were any left who’d bother to comment. I expected that. I didn’t expect to hear people coming in and saying that it was Trump’s fault for “…illegal use of the National Guard and deployment of the Marines,” or that “…it isn’t rioting for the sake of rioting,” or “I agree dropping …(rocks)… on citizens is not right. Dropping them on Humvees, Bearcats, is fair game. The military are illegally there.” I also didn’t think I’d hear, “I’ve seen a couple of articles that stated that at least some of the car fire were started due to the flash bangs that were deployed.” Oh, and, “…that some of the images and videos were from 2020 and not this past weekend.”

I have informed those people that I am not interested in excuses. Having been lectured for four years about January 6th, which included very little destruction of property (and the proper, imo, charging of those who engaged in vandalism) and only one death (on “our” side, FFS), I am not interested in excuses about why it’s okay to drop rocks on moving vehicles. It’s not.

Chris wanted me to write this because I was very angry this morning. I’m still very angry. I have noted that the aforementioned commenters have stopped commenting. That’s a good thing, because I am not bending on this.

Let me pull it apart. Let’s see, illegal use of the National Guard. CBS News had the following to say: “The presidential memorandum Mr. Trump issued Saturday said at least 2,000 National Guard troops would be deployed to Los Angeles, and those soldiers are now arriving in the area. The president has charged National Guard personnel with protecting ICE officials and other federal authorities and employees. They have not been granted the authority to arrest civilians.” (CBS News, June 9, 2025) Gavin Newsom is likely to get himself arrested if he keeps defying Trump, and I’m okay with that. The Guard are there to protect officials who are currently under attack for doing their jobs. Like it or don’t like it, some of those people have been hurt. Homeland Security had this to say: “Last night, over 1,000 rioters surrounded a federal law enforcement building and assaulted ICE law enforcement officers, slashed tires, defaced buildings, and taxpayer funded property. It took the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) 2 hours to respond.” (DHS, June 7, 2025, their emphasis.) It is fact, not opinion or thought or concern, that people have been hurt and assaulted, and that vandalism and looting are taking place. That’s that. This is a perfectly legal use of the Guard.

I don’t know that there’s any other reason to riot than … for the sake of rioting. I won’t even get into that. I *might* agree to riots if people were being lined up and shot against walls, or burned in ovens. They aren’t, though. They’re being sent home. In some cases, that probably sucks, and I feel for those who’ve legitimately tried to integrate and have gotten caught. But that’s the risk they took, and while it sucks, it’s what happens. I can dislike it and still know it’s the right thing to do.

Dropping rocks on anyone is not “fair game” and no one’s going to convince me of that. Again, the only time I might consider that acceptable is if there were people’s lives imminently at stake. We’re not killing illegal aliens. We’re just sending them home. In some cases, if they committed atrocious crimes, they are being sent to prison. Again, not death. Even being sent to the El Salvadorian prison is not death, and in fact is set up to keep people from dying. So again, stupid excuses.

Claims are being made by Newsom that Marines on the ground is equal to the death of Posse Comitatus. That is only true if the Marines involve themselves in “law enforcement activities.” Trump says they’re deployed to protect buildings and local officials. It should be fairly obvious almost immediately if they ignore Posse Comitatus, because there are 8 bazillion cameras in L.A. right now. We’ll all see it. Of course, Trump could engage various means to allow the Marines to clean up the area. As much as that might be the quick and probably most kind way to end things, I don’t think it would be a good tactical move, at this point at any rate.

Cars on fire (sort of like “pants on fire” but more visual). “From social media and photos, it appears that at least five Waymo self-driving robotaxis were set on fire on Sunday, June 8 amidst immigration protests in downtown Los Angeles.” (USA Today, June 9, 2025) The same article says that the taxis were all empty, so no one was hurt, but that each of the vehicles costs over $70,000. It’s been said on social media that people were calling the taxis in, but I can’t confirm that, and the USA Today article does raise the point that, if people had done so, there would be records and Waymo would probably be making that info known on social media by now. This makes me think the taxis just wandered into the area, and unlike human drivers, just didn’t know well enough to get out of Dodge. Regardless, burning these Waymo vehicles creates incredibly toxic gasses that can hurt people nearby… which means the rioters more than anyone else. So they’re vandalizing things AND harming themselves. I can’t make this shit up, folks.

As to “some of the images being from 2020,” I really don’t even care. There are PLENTY of accurate images dated to the last couple of days. If a few from 2020 snuck in, then so be it. If I find them I’ll weed them out. So far, I haven’t seen any. Certainly the videos of PEOPLE DROPPING HUGE ROCKS THROUGH MOVING VEHICLES’ WINDSHIELDS are current. Did I mention they were dropping rocks through windshields?

On top of it all, a good number of these people are wearing masks and waving Mexican flags. I feel for those who went there to actually peacefully protest. That is and should be allowed, even (or especially) when I disagree with their point. There are hundreds of people there who are just protesting. But there are thousands of people on the ground in the area, and a lot of them are masked. That makes them, in my very strong opinion, an invading force.

I could spew more vitriol, but what good would it do? I know I’m preachin’ to the choir with this. But man, I’m frustrated and upset. I want to yell at someone. All this shit is just… well, shit.

And frankly? I thought the fight between Elon and Trump was contrived in order to distract from the Big Beautiful Bill, which Trump didn’t want anyone looking at too closely (or conversely, wanted everyone to look at closely). I really don’t think our two dads are fighting, and I’m pretty sure I’m right because one of them picked JD up from baseball practice after school. The riots are also distracting from the BBB. I don’t want people to look away from the damn bill, because it *IS* full of pork, and that’s what we hired Donny to get rid of. I know he can’t fix everything at once, but damn it, I don’t like this budget/bill/whatever.

What I WANT is to have single topic bills. One topic, one bill. Period. And I want term limits on Congresscritters. And other politicians. Being a politician should never have been allowed to become a career. It wasn’t MEANT to be a career. The Constitution and the founding of this country was about getting rid of people who made ruling others their job, remember? Oy.

Allyson out.

Whataboutism is never a winning argument. In fact, it is a technique referred to as “closing the argument.” The intent is to change the subject to something they can argue on and win.

These LA riots are much more of an insurrection than Jan 6th times 10 on steroids. Not only is it a direct assault on Federal Law Enforcement (OK, so Jan 6 disrupted Congress…) but the local and State governments are ignoring it. In fact, they are outright defying the Federal Government’s efforts to enforce the law.

Let’s also remind everyone that Congress was back in session later in the day on Jan 6th. These “protests” are still going on, what… three days later?

    1. I don’t expect this to end before July, and likely not even then. There are too many people with too much time on their hands.

There’s a reason that poverty is the natural state of humanity. When we have a wave of prosperity, as we do right now, we FUBAR it. Every. Single. Time.

I am not optimistic this will end in July, August, or even in 2025.

The division between the political sides in this country is getting wider. The constant lawfare against Trump is not helping, these riots are not helping. And, frankly Trump could turn down the trolling and baiting of the left a bit as well.

Until that divide gets a bit more narrow, and until the average person who wants to be left alone decides to take action, this will only get worse.

        Plan accordingly.

    One more thought.

Someone noted that there are a lot of people waving Mexican flags. Their thought is, that if you love Mexico so much, and identify so strongly with Mexico, why stay in the US?

    Wrong line of thinking.

People who want to diminish the US, and most of western civilization for whatever reason (power, religion, environment, whatever) are behind this. Not necessarily deliberately, but they have turned this from arresting criminals to an attack on hispanic heritage.

Media, a collaborator at the minimum, possible driver.
Politicians, absolutely distorting ICE attempts to arrest criminals into an attack on immigrants regardless of lawful status.
Environmentalists and religious radicals, no doubt they want to support ANYTHING that makes orange man look bad, because he does not cowtow to their ideology.

I do not see a vast conspiracy here, but I do see people taking advantage for their side’s gain.

Something to keep in mind is that in recent years we’ve seen the coming of a community of professional rioters/looters, with their shadowy financiers. They came out at BLM protests, at the riots in Seattle and Portland, they may have been a factor at the pro-terrorists protests around universities earlier this year, and they certainly are a factor here.

Finding the organizers of these groups, and especially their sources of funding, should be a priority.

      1. I think you’re correct that much of the “agitation” is coming from people who have little or no connection with L.A., California, or immigrants (illegal or otherwise). I don’t know who’s behind it, but someone is definitely pushing people. I also find it interesting that “someone” is dropping off multiple bins of rocks and/or cinder blocks at street corners. Definitely fishy.

And as I’ve pointed out MANY times of late, we need to take down the people causing harm as quickly as we can (whether it’s assault, battery, whatever), because those are the people who are threatening everyone’s right to protest. Every time we let one of these violent asshats continue their attacks, we chip away at freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

“I do not see a vast conspiracy here, but I do see people taking advantage for their side’s gain.”

Unfortunately this is not the case. There IS a vast conspiracy here. The Blaze has been doing the digging and is working through the money network. Nothing here is grass roots or organic.

I am trying to be open as I can.

I have no doubt there are malicious actors behind this, but that does not explain the widespread support. For that, I look to the unintentional drivers of the riots. Social media and mainstream media as well. When the news only reports how horrific it is this administration is enforcing the law, you get this.

Does that rise to the level of vast conspiracy? Maybe, but I am not seeing it.

Instead, I see dozens of different groups/individuals, all with reasons unique to their cause, seeing recent events and deciding how it will benefit them. Much like a politician running for office, capitalizing on a misspoken word by their opponent during the campaign.

Data Republican has been tracking the money. She now has proof that the DNC is one of the groups behind this…

          Rule 39 is in effect.

  3. RE – the ABC quote: “… turning what is just a bunch of people having fun committing felony destruction of property, vandalism, and arson, into a massive confrontation and altercation.”

    There. Fixed it.

The worst part in my mind, is how casually they dismiss the dangers of large fires. This is a state and city that are ALMOST CONSTANTLY on water restrictions, if not full-blown drought conditions. The forests burn every year in large part because there isn’t enough water to fight the fires. Fireworks on July 4th are heavily restricted.

But setting uncontrolled car and building fires is fine as long as it’s the “peaceful protesters” doing it.

    *headdesk* I can’t even….

    ——

    RE – “throwing rocks”:

Hamas used to make a big, international, public hullabaloo because Israeli police were arresting “children” for “throwing rocks”. Framed like that, it sounded relatively harmless and drew some outrage.

And then it was discovered that those “children” were mostly males in their teens and early 20s, and “throwing rocks” meant tossing CINDER BLOCKS — the big ones, used for building foundations — off of highway overpasses through passing cars’ windshields. Even if they missed the cars, it was still a hazard: a large cinder block sitting in the middle of the highway that drivers now had to contend with.

Yes, people — mostly Israeli Jews, of course — got hurt and/or died as a result of those “children” who were “throwing rocks”. And yes, those injuries and deaths were the intended result of the throwers. (If you ask me, the Israeli police were, 1. perfectly correct to arrest the throwers, and 2. extremely measured in their response.)

But that’s what I think of when I see pallets of bricks being delivered to L.A. for the rioters’ use, and put that together with rioters “throwing rocks” at cars. They’re not just tossing pebbles at each other, they’re heaving bricks from elevation at first responders and random people.

In my opinion, just like the Israeli police, the officers firing bean-bag rounds and other less-lethal munitions are being EXTREMELY measured in their response, when compared to the dangers presented by the “protesters”.

(And as an aside, the J6 response was extremely severe compared to the dangers presented by those “insurrectionist rioters”, but then, they were conservative American patriots, not “undocumented immigrants”, so totally different situation.)

  4. Somewhat off-topic: David Huerta, president of SEIU-USWW (basically, the labor union chief of California) and a naturalized U.S. citizen (originally from Mexico), was arrested by ICE over the weekend, during an immigration enforcement raid.

At least … that’s how the media is portraying it.

What really happened: ICE is investigating employers whom they have probable cause to believe are hiring “undocumented immigrants” (read: people without visas who aren’t legally employable). They are visiting the businesses with signed search warrants in-hand.

Mr. Huerta attempted to physically block ICE vehicles and agents from entering one of the businesses to conduct their warranted search, got into a physical altercation with an ICE agent, and had to be subdued and pepper-sprayed. He was arrested for some combination of obstruction of justice, interfering with an investigation, and assault of an officer.

(Since then, ICE and the DoJ has been getting calls to let them know who Mr. Huerta is — because the arresting agents almost certainly didn’t know — and demand leniency. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in California says that isn’t going to happen. I say, good; he should be treated just like anyone else who tries to physically obstruct the execution of a search warrant.)

Contrary to what the media is implying, his citizenship status is not being questioned or challenged. All pending charges are for his actions trying to interfere and/or prevent a lawful investigation — again, with a signed search warrant.

  5. At least half a dozen died at the J6 false flag massacre. All them Trump supports, all the them tortured to death by the demonrat gestapo (sorry, “Capitol Police,” look up the Tunnel of Terror). Except Ashli Babitt, she got a relatively easy death by being gunned down with premeditated execution shots to the back.

Every last one of those “peacefully violent protestors” belongs in a mass grave next to all the other subhuman filth calling itself a democrat.

Allyson, you are now fully on the right. Welcome. To see you not only qouting, but encouraging people to follow The Blaze is impressive, because they are tied with the Daily Wire for the most conservative media out there. You are going to lose friends over this. Prepare yourself.

    1. LOL… Thanks. I was more impressed with the Blaze when it first opened. The first six months were downright fantastic. It’s… dwindled a little, since then. However, it still appears to be miles better than the so-called legacy media. I’ve used the Blaze for information before, so anyone who was going to get their panties bunched over it has already left. But yes, I’ve drifted more Right again.

Most of those who still follow me on FB are either conservative or centrist (true centrist, not leftists with a central bend). Those few who are really left are much more offended right now at my “I’m not accepting excuses or argument changes” than they are at my choice of news venue. Previously, I’ve always kept doors open in conversations, listening carefully and working to politely refute (or support) other people’s claims. I’m not doing that this time. I’m just not interested.

“Did you read the Bill? No? I’m not talking to you until you have.”

“Can you show me at least three different examples/articles/whatever that support your claim? No? Then your claim is not supportable. Bye.”

“You’re ignoring my actual question. I’m not engaging with you anymore until you do.”

I’m becoming unpopular. But I’m doing it politely and pointedly, and with good grammar and soft wording. So as frustrated as they are, there isn’t much to attack me on.
