Blood Vultures

A mentally troubled kid decided to take his AR-15 to school and start shooting.

The good news is that there was an SRO on site. This SRO ran to the sound of gun fire. The cowardly asshole shooter gave up as soon as a good guy with a gun arrived.

The bad news is that 2 teachers and 2 children lost their lives.

Thank god it wasn’t another Uvalde.

The father of the shooter has been arrested and charged with manslaughter. This is likely a direct result of the parents of the Michigan shooter being found guilty of their child shooting up a school.

Before the blood was cold, before the smoke had cleared, the blood vultures were at it again.

For some reason, they are big in the collective punishment game. I’m considered guilty of killing children because I have guns. Worse, I have a black gun that looks like an AR-15.

They have no issues with the actual weapons of war I have in my collection. The M1, the Springfield Trapdoor, the K98 and others are all weapons of war. They were all carried in battle.

But for some reason, that AR-15 style firearm is so evil I have to give mine up because some nut job used a gun to kill people.

Still no word on the murder capital of the US, Chicago. Oh, right, that’s black on black crime. I guess that doesn’t matter to the blood vultures.

Years ago, my eldest son, in 2nd grade, came home to report that he had been in lockdown. This was the first I had heard of “lock-downs” in schools.

When I went to talk to the principal, he explained it was a drill because a bad person could come and shoot up the kids.

He made a mistake, he asked me “What do you want me to do?”

“I want you to open the gun safe, take your gun out and run to the sound of gun fire and stop the shooter.”

He did not like that answer. Seems that he would rather children die than have the right tool to save lives.

Most schools are “weapon free”. A local high school was on lockdown for most of the day, this then extended to a local elementary school.

The cause of the lockdown? A high school student was spotted with a pocket knife. When they demanded to look into his stuff, he left. He walked home. That happened to have him walking into town. The elementary school was in the general direction.

This required therapy dogs and counselors to deal with the panic the staff instilled in the kids.

I’m sick of the blood vultures. Every one of them starts their argument with the same line of reasoning: We should break the law! It is for the good of the children!

Why do they always advocate breaking the law?

Oh, that’s right, they don’t like that law. So it must mean something else. You know, like only muskets, they say on their Wi-Fi enabled handheld magic box.

“You ignore the first part of the amendment, about well regulated! That means plenty of laws.” No, it means functioning well. It is still used in some technical fields to mean exactly that.

Or it only applies to “the militia”. The English doesn’t scan that way. The Supreme Court has said it is an individual right. The amendment says “the right of the people“. But they are dishonest.

educated idiots think Militia means military… We the People know what it means. We also know gun free zones mean easy targets. liberals have pushed to make schools vulnerable for decades.. harris wants to “demilitarize schools” remove sro from all schools..
yet many with kids will vote for it. we are stupid.

I worked in the insurance industry for an entity insuring public schools post-Columbine around the time of Sandy Hook. School Violence was a very “hot topic”.

Public Schools took a reactive approach vs. proactive one. Security was the answer; until securing doors became inconvenient during recess, outdoor classes and phys ed. Anti-Harassment assemblies were promoted; no followup on monitoring behavior for instances of hazing and taunting. Penalties for student-athlete bullies were non-existent if their presence on the field would ensure a win in the Division game. Zero tolerance for weapons policies are a farce, the Cooking class had drawers full of pointy, sharp knives. SRO’s were a lifesaver, until the agency employing them looked at the program as a way to generate revenue and expand headcount. The School District was expected to raise taxes to pay for taxpayer supported public servants (police officers).

Proactive measures require discipline, responsibility and accountability. Parents need to teach positive social values; religion can define those and reinforce them. So can the Public School. All things that are reprehensible to the Progressive Elites.

Act accordingly. No one’s coming in time to save you.

Pendulum clocks, old and new, are sold with a large “Regulator” branding, which implies that the clock functions well and tells accurate time. “Regulator” does NOT mean it makes plenty of laws and controls every microcosm of your life.

Every propane grill (and most larger propane-fueled items, I believe) have a regulator installed. It ensures the gas is flowing at the correct rate to operate the appliance safely — i.e. function well. It does not make rules and laws or force you to use certain size tanks or only fire up the appliance under specific, narrowly-defined circumstances.

Every time I see the phrase, “well-regulated”, these two items in particular cross my mind. Their name and their purpose. They don’t make or enforce arbitrary rules; they ensure that whatever they’re installed in functions properly and does its job.

Ergo, a “well-regulated militia” is one which functions well and does its job, not one which is subject to an excess of arbitrary rules — which more often are written to hinder its ability to do its job.

You, a law abiding and responsible citizen should be disbarred the possession of an item you purchased in a law abiding and responsible manner, because someone you do not know ‘might’ use a similar item to commit a crime.

That is the very essence of any restrictive gun control measure. It does not matter how trustworthy you have proven yourself to be, you are obviously not trustworthy. Because someone else was not trustworthy.

Finally, as to charging the father… There may be something there, but not manslaughter. The kid was identified as a threat, and specifically threats against other students/the school were cited. Despite that, the father bought a rifle and gave it to his son.
If I understand correctly, the father knowingly gave the shooter the weapon.

I am not legally savvy enough to know if a specific law was violated there, but it was extremely dangerous to do. Should he be charged? Not for manslaughter, but perhaps aiding and abetting? I do not know.

I went to high school in the early 80s. I grew up around guns. people ask me “why do you carry a 1911??”. its a hundred plus year old platform that fought numerous wars and WORKS. the main reason- 6 years old, out back of the house, shooting a Remington Rand 1911… shot the wheel barrow by accident… still got the 1911 and the wheel barrow. in high school I had a gun rack in my room with an 870 12ga and an M1 carbine on it, LOADED. when I got bullied in high school I finally told the assistant principal I had an aluminum bat at home and I would bring it and clean house… never DREAMED or thought of using firearms. its the upbringing , lack of parents guidance and constant hyped up media frenzy that causes this today. if liberals want to hold innocent gun owners, manufacturers and the nra responsible, then media and liberals should be responsible for perpetuating “gun violence “…. firearms are the only tool blamed for the misuse… because liberals FEAR firearms in the hands of We the People…. I use DUI as a “bullet(heh) point- my neighbor got busted for DUI, so the liberal mindset is I need to give up my vehicles because my neighbor is an idiot and misused his vehicle…

I got the same crap when I was buying a 1911 from some other customer. Shut him down with one statement. “This gun has over 100 years of technical refinement. It is not old, it is refined.”

And, yes. No matter what analogy you use, the statement is the same. Why should a law abiding individual be denied use of anything (car, gun, knife, etc…) because of the bad behavior of another individual. Trump (supposedly) slandered E. Jean Carroll using social media. So, everyone should be denied access, right?
