Friday Feedback

Merry Christmas to you all!

If you know somebody that is alone this Christmas season, make sure you reach out to them to let them know that they are not truly alone.

For those serving that are away this Christmas season, I wish you safe travels and hope you find you way home soon.

We have a number of suggestions, I’m going to go through my inbox again this weekend and move them all into my keep so that they are right there when I go to right. Thank you.

We also have an article from a reader/contributor that needs to be published. My responsibility, I’ll attempt to get that out soon.

Is there any articles you particularly enjoyed this week? Is there any particular subject that needed more attention?

On a personal query, did anybody besides me read my long article How States are arguing 2A cases post Bruen? Did it meet your expectations?

Friday Feedback

First, thank you to our readers that keep turning in suggestions. I’m sorry that not all of them get articles written about them. Sometimes it is because we have something else already in the works, other times it is because we can’t stand another article about that subject. And sometimes it is because we just don’t have time.

About 20 years ago I was doing semi-professional photograph. I did a couple of wedding shoots, I also did a few shoots for actresses and actors. And I did a few shoots for newsworthy events. Even got published once and had a showing where I actually sold a couple of prints.

My equipment at the time was a Nikon F5 with a bunch of good lenses. I was depressed to learn that my F5 which I paid north of $1500 for was no selling used for under $200.

I’ve wanted to get back into photography but wasn’t willing to pay for another F5 class camera body. Then I found that I could buy one step down and got myself a D5100 from Nikon. It works with some of my older lenses but not all.

One of the big issues is that it doesn’t work right with my onboard flash. Thus the washed out images.

Do you all want more of my photos of guns and things? They will get better once I figure out the controls a bit better.

Any feedback on my analysis of court cases? I am NOT a lawyer. I’m just a computer nerd and I’m trying to read all of this case law. It is dense and full of ignorant and evil arguments.

Friday Feedback

Well it has been a good week for some court cases and a bad week for others.

Trying to figure out what is actually going on in different court cases has been a huge learning task for me.

So it is that time of week when y’all can let us know how we are doing and what you would like more of or less of.

Given my addiction to lever action rifles (at this time) I find myself amazed at the number of different calibers that are available in the lever action line.

So it is that horrible day when your SO says “Too much is too much! You have to reduce to two calibers and two only!”

What would you choose?

I’m thinking that I would take .45 Colt. I have pistols and rifles in that caliber. For the other caliber maybe 45-70. I want something that hits hard and can be used for taking large game. On the other hand having an AR-15 in 5.56 is also very very useful.

Anyway, let us know what you are thinking.

Friday Feedback

First thank you for all of our readers that have sent in prompts and pointers. It helps.

I put out an advertisement last week. Is that something you would like to see more of? We get them from time to time. Most of the time it is obviously a request to use the blog for spam. Let us publish an article on your site with just a few links back to some random place doesn’t get anywhere.

I’ve put out a couple of long articles about court cases and so forth, do you want more? I’m still learning and following. It is sort of neat when I spend a few hours writing a long form article and the next day some of the people I follow write/talk about the same subject. Never know if they are following me or if we are all just following the same somebody else.

I’m going to try and keep a focus on the Measure 114 case coming up. Are there any other cases you know about that we should be following.

Have a great weekend.

Welcome to Friday Feedback!

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving if you are in the US and I hope your Thursday was great if not.

On Wed I attended one of my clients weekly meetings. This client’s owner came from Brazil and has a number of people that live in Brazil working for him. As well as the people that are still in Brazil, he has a number of people that migrated to the US from Brazil working for him.

The subject of the meeting was “What are you thankful for?” I got asked the question late Wed, about an hour before the meeting and not really thinking about it gave a flip answer “I’m thankful for modern medicine.” My family is at the tail end of a cold/flu thing and we got here with OTC meds. My son ended up with a sinus infection, which is being treated with antibiotics. We were all able to reach out and talk to or have an appointment with our doctors within 24 hours of calling.

This is the modern medicine I’m thankful for.

But it is a flippant answer.

A more thoughtful answer is longer.

I’m thankful for living in the United States of America. I’m thankful for living in a country that gave rise to the concept of God given rights over king given rights. I’m thankful for the freedoms I have to protect myself, my family, my community. I’m thankful for the freedom to speak what I wish.

On a smaller scale I’m thankful for all of the readers that have stuck with us as we transitioned from Miguel’s blog to Miguel and J.Kb’s blog to where we are now.

So today’s question for you all:
What are you thankful for? Be it big, be it small, what are you thankful for?

An Advertisement for Ammo.

I don’t know anything about this company other than the email they sent us.  I looked at their site briefly and saw that they had all sorts of calibers listed but they were out of the calibers I expected them to be out of so not a “We have everything!”

I can’t find Jack’s name in our user list nor do I remember him commenting.

If you buy from this guy and it is a scam, please let us know and I’ll mark this post with a warning.  If you buy or have purchased in the past, let us know as well.

Good luck.

Hi AWA and J. Kb,

I’m looking to partner with a couple gun-friendly bloggers on a Black Friday promotion and thought you might be interested.

Basically, we’re offering ammo below cost on Friday – like $.20 per round 9mm delivered. I think a lot of your readers who shoot would find value in knowing about the deal and I’d like to make it worth your time too. If I can send you some ammo to shoot yourself, please let me know. I’m certainly not looking for a handout here; I’d much rather partner with authentic bloggers than some spammy, bot-created drivel that reaches out to me.

To give you an idea of what we’ll have, here are our featured deals:
• 9mm Ammo – 500 rounds 115 Grain FMJ – $100 (.20/rd delivered)
• 5.56 Ammo – 500 rounds 55 Grain FMJ – $160 ( .32/rd delivered)
• 40 S&W Ammo – 1000 rounds 180 Grain TMJ – $270 (.27/rd delivered)
• 45 ACP Ammo – 1000 rounds 230 Grain TMJ – $380 (.38/rd delivered)
• 380 ACP Ammo – 1000 rounds 95 Grain FMJ – $270 (.27/rd delivered)
• 22 LR Ammo – 3330 rounds 36 Grain CPHP – $200 (.06/rd delivered)

The ammo will appear on our specials page at 9 a.m. (ET) Friday morning. (https://www.cheapammo.com/ammo-specials) Last year most calibers sold out before Cyber Monday. Because of the pricing, we can’t name the manufacturer but all of these will be brass-cased options so most shooters will be comfortable knowing they’re getting a great deal.

If you think there’s any room to work together, please let me know. We’re a young company and I would like to find help spreading the word if I can afford it.

In any case, thanks for considering us; I hope your Thanksgiving is a good one.

-Jack

A fisking we shall go?

About once a day I stumble on an article that is filled with half truths and lies about guns, gun laws and other second amendment issues. Some of those seem to travel far and wide with nobody calling BS on them.

I’ve started fisking one such article.

Let me know if you want more fisking articles.  Feel free to send us articles you’d like us to fisk.

Feel free to let loose below and give us some feedback.

We’ve started a weekly link dump at the suggestion of some of our readers from last week.

A couple of longish articles went out.

The goal of this blog remains the same, to bring attention to gun related issues, to have a platform for our passions, to talk about things of value to this community.

We are actively seeking more articles from you our members. Send them in and we’ll see if they can be published.

What articles did you see this week that were of particular interest to you?
Do you have any links to stories you’d like us to look at?
